and here the last part of interesting things and people we saw/learned/got to know at typo: this is tom uglow. he is the art director of google and youtube (so kind of the art director of the universe.)

he also created the interactive music clip by arcade fire the wilderness downtown. you can insert your home address and the clip takes place in your hood using images from google street view. insane.

he also started an amazing project called life in a day. they sent out a request to the world to chronicle, via video, a single day on earth. 80,000 submissions and 4,500 hours of footage from 192 countries later producer ridley scott and director kevin macdonald created Life in a Day.

so what do we learn here alltogether? exactly: 1) graphic design is everywhere. and 2) you don't need to wear a particularly nice jumper or hat to rule the world.

TYPO LONDON pt3 - IT'S IMPORTANT TO CELEBRATE PARKING DAY

we were especially into one of the projects presented at typo design conference. filmmaker gary hustwit (helvetica, urbanized) introduced park(ing) day. the idea is to pay for a parking spot and convert it into an enjoyable city oasis.

design conference that took place in berlin earlier this year and now came to london for the first time. we took some notes for you, below, and besides realising that taking notes is vital and fun a later look at them also revealed they are a healthy way to free some of your inner psycho ...

HORSING AROUND

an hermès bag just like this one. well in blue of course, duh!

it's the year of crafts at hermès so they invited two of their craftsmen, erm one man and a woman, from the production site in france to their viennese boutique to show how the bags and ties are made. explaining every step. in french, if you let them!

 to be honest we were not aware of the fancy animal prints used for lots of their ties!

 these funky bankers nowadays ...

 favourite item at the boutique still: beautiful horse tea set!

 could so see ourselves slurping our lady grey from these every morning

and talking about food and drinks. same evening horse was invited to a dinner by rado.

 porcini risotto with crayfish capuccino (!)
