WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - SMALL PARTS. NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS.

yesterday was a great day for the orange pony. we received a press pack about "at eight", the ring hotel's restaurant in vienna
and?
and this info pack came with A BARBIE DOLL!
finally someone to hang out with for the orange pony.
(excuse barbie, she wouldn't know how a lady's supposed to sit)
checking emails:
and redressing (!) for the night to go out with the gang
what that has to do with the restaurant? how are we supposed to focus? we now HAVE A BARBIE DOLL!

WHAT THE KATE?

is topshop serious? was kate drunk when she gave her go for these garments to be sold under her name?
the "kate moss essentials collection", currently the only moss pieces available at topshop.
sure, if they'd pay me per item they're allowed to print my name on, still...

not pleased with what katie did this time. especially for 18-25£.

PLAYTIME

do you guys know the website polyvore.com? it's the cleverest thing: your invited to create some "artwork" sets using what's in online stores at the moment. you'll feel like an artist and not notice that evil subconsciously growing craving before it's too late. "i need this thingy! now!"
anyhow. from all those thousands of sets their visitors create we were happy to see they chose one featuring a material girl cover as "top set" yesterday...

as we were not very happy with this user's choice of clothes (and where are the ANIMALS??) we created our own set of summery hotchpotch.
we already apologise for introducing some of you to polyvore aka enemy of all visa bills.

NILS TEE-ING pt 2

and here we go, our tiny interview with nils dunkel. did we mention we love his animal collection?

why t-shirts?
i was thinking about a simple way to have my art wearable (paired
with an affordable price)... and what is more simple than a shirt?

why animals? and why these animals?
animals, because they have a good soul. a raven, a seagull, a
tiger, a leopard, a wolf, a peacock and two foxes cooperated with the
colours i chose for them. it was not only about the motives,
especially the colours are an important part of the collection. There
are all three primary colours like yellow, blue and red (leopard/wolf/
fox) plus some secondary ones. i wanted to present a broad spectrum
of colours! and of course, the animals i chose are kind of my
favourite animals.

anything we can learn from animals?
definitely! we should finally learn to follow our inner instincts!

and if you'd be an animal you'd be...?
a lynx!

SURFINSAFARI

yesterday the small flatbear was in zurich
...the only logical place to be checking out the new collection by emu australia. it's one of the brands which invented the most controversial place for your feet: the ugg boot. (emu and ugg used to be one company but later split. the boot was created for surfers to warm their cold feet after surfing in winter)
the flatbear felt a bit lonely there in zurich so he tried to make friends with the new children's designs.
but a friendship between bear and boot is an impossible thing.
so he tried posing with his surfboard.
not convincing.
and playing hide and seek...
... makes no sense at all of noone is looking for you.
but then!
small flatbear met rammy. the two were thick as thieves immediately.
looking for adventures. (looking carefully, everywhere)
what's on tv?
or maybe read a nice book?
...and while rammy read a fairy tale the small flatbear slowly fell asleep.

NILS TEE-ING

now (well, friday, when we last could be bothered to post something, we lazy bastards) that we are talking about animals on t-shirts we need to add the new collection by german i-can-do-it-all-teenager nils dunkel (it's nils himself on the picture below. how handy to be model and designer).

we have been asking nils which animal he'd be but it seems we're not the only lazy ones here - answer to follow as soon as we hear back from him haha ...

oh, and these lookbook images were shot by kate bellm, who did this story for the current issue of INDIE:

PET-TEE-ING

now it's not hard to guess what the pet fanclub would print on a t-shirt if we were to design one...
... we would be making a really pretty drawing or painting of a beloved furry friend. something like this:
important : 1) blurry pastel colour background
2) a strong facial expression
3) emotion - be it joyfulness...
or a sad dog moment
or we'd be cross stitching a furry friend
...
and what would be on your t-shirt?
tell the guys at fenchurch and win their design competition!

AMBER IS BON

already seen our shoot and interview with amber le bon in INDIE's current spring issue? amber's the daughter of duran duran singer simon le bon and london's new it-gi... oops, almost used the evil word!

the story was shot by niclas heikkinen, one of our favourite photographers.
now he did a short film with amber for testmag.co.uk. love it.

with "elvis" by these new puritans as soundtrack.
almost as good: "the reflex" by duran duran. (sorry, youtube wouldn't let us embed a proper video. but this is pretty amazing anyway. (we need these haircuts. now.)):

SWOOSHILICIOUS

for the fourth time already nike invited austrian, swiss and german stylists and fashion editors to show their interpretation of the new nike collection. for some strange reason paul was asked to participate last year. (his silly photo showing austrian football player rubin okotie:)

so paul was very curious to see this season's masterpieces. again the task was to create a great image working with athletes as models. the theme was "from sport to culture" and styling was based on highlight pieces such as the n98 jacket and the nike red-laces (you even do something good by buying it because all the money supports the fight against AIDS in africa!)

the results:
we here at the pet fanclub are really happy about a furry friend involved. the furry friend does not seem happy about it though.

last but not least - the austrian interpretation

football sweety julian baumgartlinger styled by sergej benedetter.
the making of video:
 most important lesson we learned?
there seems to be some weird event called "world cup" in africa this year. apparently something to do with balls.
